I am not a philosopher

The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it.

that's one of my life goals i think - trying to confuse the heck out of people.

reading Plato's republic, i could just imagine people wanting to smack Socrates in the mouth - "just tell me what you want me to say, man!" - and so on.

how much do you reckon of philosophy is telling people to sit in the corner of a round room?
